I havent written for various reasons, one being that the crews computer and other various electronics were stolen en route to Montanitas , more on that later [I would strongly discourage traveling on the CICA 25 bus though] and I kinda had a little accident surfing in which I might have drowned if not for some really fast , and terribly good-looking I might add, surfers. But what got me out of bed today was the political climate is well a little tumultuous today, I´m not sure how objective the live news is but hey I was raised on fox news it can’t be that bad right? So I guess it started over the police force having issue over their salary decided to go on strike , then a top general , whose name I forget was I guess trying to calm the police and military factions, unfortunately he was unsuccessful and attacked , as was the president [Corea] who is from what I understand in a hospital in Quito , now this is not yet what one would call a coupe, but political marches from mainly citizens of lower economic factions[ the poor folks ] are very much in favor of the president have put traveling at pretty much a standstill, however the higher economic factions [the rich folks] are calling for the president to be taken out of office as his many of his new programs have involved higher taxes, not to mention stronger notice of tax evasion. for now things are relatively calm the rent is paid till the end of the week but getting to Guayaquil to fly home is a big question mark, not to mention the concern over the thousand plus extra people planing , and some wo are already in the tiny town of Santa Elena for the district convention of Jehovah witnesses, I worry because these conventions often draw large crowds as they are open and free to the whole public, I worry for my friends and i worry for the general attitude of people when the desperation for changes becomes the fuel for the fire to various political agendas . for right now though were safe , and watching the news like everyone else.
